In this approximately 600-square-meter traditional Chinese courtyard space, the designer combines the order and restraint conveyed by the square and symmetrical layout with the imagination and possibilities of cinema. Classic, colorful, and rich scenes reminiscent of film visuals are integrated into this framework. Under the overarching concept of Retro Glam, collision, fusion, and balance design techniques permeate the space, ultimately presenting a timelessly elegant atmosphere. This creates a familiar yet surprising and warm spatial experience that harmonizes local and exotic elements.

The first floor is loose, open, relaxed which serves coffee. The seating is relatively spacious. Bar counter and loose seating area on the second floor is different, more compact but not crowded. The sense of distance between people familiar or unfamiliar is more subtle. We hope more conversation and stories can happen there.

This project uses flowing arc designs, diverse material textures, and atmospheric lighting to create a dreamlike sensation within the space. To alleviate the oppressive feel caused by the building's original structure and varying heights, the areas are not separated by doors but are instead defined by curved ceiling lines, enriching the visual interest. Curves become the focal point throughout the space, with abundant linear light sources emphasizing the contours of the curves. The space features woven metal panels, artistic coatings, velvet, amber mirrors, and polished natural stone, encouraging visitors to touch and enjoy the fusion of light and materials, enhancing the dreamlike atmosphere. Finally, environmental control systems—including lighting, air conditioning, curtains, and music—differentiate the scenes, allowing visitors to follow the narrative of their dreamlike journey.

Drawing on the concept of "dealing with water", the flowing lines of the form are curved and secluded, with stone fences as partitions, and the overall style is an art gallery, presenting an orderly and varied spatial rhythm in the design. The restaurant's main color tone is natural wood, with a square grid ceiling design symbolizing the continuous layers of mountains. The therapy space continues the technique of stone mosaics, with a skylight well in the ceiling guiding the indoor light changes. Through the translucent glass, the scattered light and shadow resemble the silent imagination of thoughts, combining reality and illusion.

All things are straight or curvy, which make for the art. As a functional venue integrating beauty, health preservation and leisure, the beauty salon should always maintain the dual attributes of fashion and emotion.
Chinese people highly value the degree of curves and straightness, which constitute quietness in cities, and beauty of static space, if properly handled. Curves and straightness, light, shadow and materials, frame-line combination and rectangular segmentation all use interpersonal as a scale, which improve the emotional attachment to the space and the interaction with users. This highlights the fun and the essence of life, and achieves a spiritual resonance between beauty workers and customers. The design of the spa room ought to be comfortable. Although it is a simple structure, a semi-open wall allows interaction between the living space and the natural space. When the light enters obliquely, the guests will have a memorable experience.
