Ms. Caroline Bos

Co-Founder & Principal Urban Planner of UNStudio

Co-Founder & Principal Urban Planner of UNStudio Caroline Bos (1959) studied History of Art at Birkbeck College of the University of London, and Urban and Regional Planning at the Faculty of Geosciences, University of Utrecht.

In 1988 she founded Van Berkel & Bos Architectuurbureau with the architect Ben van Berkel, extending their joint theoretical and writing projects to the practice of architecture.

In 1998 Van Berkel and Bos was transformed into UNStudio; a network of specialists in architecture, urban development and infrastructure.

Caroline is a registered urban designer and leads UNStudio’s Urban Unit.She has taught as a guest lecturer at Princeton University, the Berlage Institute in Rotterdam, The Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and the Academy of Architecture in Arnhem and has been External Examiner at DRL, Architectural Association, London.

Currently she is Honorary professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning at the university of Melbourne.

Mr. Greg Pearce

Co-Founder & Managing Director, One Space Ltd Born and educated in the USA, Greg is a UK- and Hong Kong-qualified Architect and the co-founder of One Space Limited, specialising in the integration of architecture, interiors and technology.

Greg’s professional experience spans more than 30 years in practice as a key designer on a number of prestigious projects in the USA, Europe and Asia.

He helped establish in 1992 the Hong Kong office of Arup Associates, co-leading the Hong Kong Station design team from Conception to Completion.

An advocate of interdisciplinary collaboration, he has designed several highly-visible projects on complex and sensitive sites worldwide, as well as award-winning interiors in Asia.

Greg was a design tutor at University of Bath, and co-founded HKU’s MIDM Programme.

He is a frequent contributor to the media and has conducted speaking engagements worldwide.

Greg was the 2009 recipient of RFP’s “Outstanding Individual in Industry Award” for Transformational Project Leadership at the HSBC Building, 1 Queen’s Road Central, Hong Kong.

Ms. Caroline Sohie

Architecture Director of INSTINCT

Architecture Director of INSTINCT Caroline Sohie has almost two decades of design experience in the leadership of large public infrastructure environments around the world, where interior spaces represent a natural extension of the broader external urban systems, and boundaries between the outside and inside are blurred and redefined.

As an architect she is passionate about interdisciplinary design as she believes innovation lies in the cross-fertilisation of ideas, stemming from many parallel disciplines.

After developing a wide ranging portfolio for the global design and engineering company ARUP, from rail, aviation to projects in culture and education, she became a principal of the international design practice INSTINCT, featuring projects that bring strategic and creative responses to the challenges of a rapidly evolving world.

Her most recent design and research focus lies in engaging with the social and cultural ecologies of ‘place’, to enable realities that can add quality of life to people whilst creating systemic change.

Mr. Tihamer Salij

Founding Director of Space Intelligence Agency Tihamér Salij is founding director of Space Intelligence Agency (S.I.A.), an unconventional international operating research and design office based in Rotterdam (NL), specialized in making city futures, architecture, design, exhibitions, and educational programs.

S.I.A. is both an experimental and practical studio where different disciplines, such as architecture, urban planning, philosophy, design and art meet.

Tihamér has worked at the architecture firm MVRDV on projects including The Region Maker, 3D City, and Pig City and he has been co-editor of the publications KM3 – Excursions on Capacity and The Regionmaker - RheinRuhrCity.

He co-curated and co-designed the exhibitions RheinRuhrCity at the NRW Forum in Düsseldorf (GER) and NL28-Olympic Fire at the Netherlands Architecture Institute Museum in Rotterdam (NL).

Tihamér has edited and authored books including NL28 Olympic Fire – Future Games, Visionary Cities, Green Dream, Total Housing – Alternatives to urban sprawl, Hong Kong Fantasies – Challenging World Class City Standards, We Want World Wonders – Building Architectural Myths, and has written numerous articles for a wide range of topics.

Tihamér has been teaching at various universities worldwide, including the Hong Kong University, Hong Kong Design Institute, China Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, ENSAV in Paris, the Berlage and Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam.

He teaches regularly at the Faculty of Architecture, TU Delft where he has been affiliated to the think-tank The Why Factory between 2007 and 2016 as Research Program Leader of the Future Cities Program and coordinator of the Future Cities Publication Series.

He began his career working within a multidisciplined architectural practice where he was primarily involved with interior design projects.

Became a member, then fellow in 1994, of the Chartered Society of Designers.

He continues to play an active role in design education and at a broader professional level – having been elected Chairman of the Hong Kong Interior Design Association from 1998 to 2000 and Fellow Member in 2013 of the HKIDA.

Dai’s solid experience helming five-star hotel work through sound project management, contract administration and financial control is largely responsible for LRF Designers Ltd.’s successful track record.

Furthermore, he has been appointed by the HKCAAVQ as a specialist in 2001, 2008, 2011 and 2015 until 2018, and Vice Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Hotel Design Association since 2010.

Fong is a registered Professional Interior Designer of IIDA (U.S.A), Chartered Society of Designer (UK) and member of AIA (USA) He was elected as the Chairman of the Hong Kong Interior Design Association from 1993-1995.

During his 30 more years of practice, he completed more than 1,000 major projects located in Mainland China, London, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and USA, and receiving more than 100 design awards.

In addition Mr.

Fong lectured at the Hong Kong University and The Tsing Hua University in Bejing China.

He also sat on the judging panel for the Asia Pacific Interior Design Award competition and the examination panels for various design institutes. Presently Mr.

Fong is the Professor of The China Academy of Art in Hangzhou China, rating the best art academy in China.

Mr. Horace Pan

Founder of PANORAMA

Founder of PANORAMA Horace Pan, a Hong Kong design figure famous for creating story-telling and unique spatial experiences of various commercial interior disciplines, obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design and Master of Arts degree in Design from School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

He established his award-winning design practice PANORAMA in 2003 and received over 70 international awards.

Pan now furthers his professional career in the field of design education and is the assistant professor at School of Design, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and serving as the Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Interior Design Association and 2011-14 Executive Board Member of the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI).

Pan received Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Designers Award and China Entrepreneur Award in 2008 & 2010 respectively.

Pan was the only Chinese among the 10 invited international designers in 2011 Taiwan International Interior Design Exhibition.

In 2014 Pan received Hong Kong & Shenzhen Outstanding Achievement Designer Award in recognition of his contribution to the interior industry development over the past decade.
