Erik Nissen Johansen
Founder and Creative Director, Global Award-Winning Hospitality Design Studio Stylt Erik Nissen Johansen is the founder and creative director of global award-winning hospitality design studio Stylt in Gothenburg, Sweden.
For more than 25 years, Stylt has combined concept development, interior architecture, design and branding to create unique hotel and restaurant experiences for clients all over the world.
Under Erik’s leadership, Stylt has won several awards, including IH&P award for worlds best SPA design, several AHEAD awards, Best New Boutique Hotel in the World, European Hotel Design Awards, several Swedish Design Prizes, and the World Hotel Award.
Stylt is the only design practice to receive UNESCO Prix Versailles for best hotel interior in the world twice.
So far the portfolio includes more than 400 restaurants, 300 hotels and several destination developments.
Storytelling is Erik’s tool for bringing experiences and brands to life.
Stories are always the red thread in creating the concepts, guiding every aspect of development, from brand positioning to setting the table.
This results in consistent, engaging and memorable design, which in turn creates consistent, engaging and memorable customer experiences.

Erik Nissen Johansen Born in Oslo Norway 1965 and graduated from the L'Istituto per l'Arte e il Restauro in Florence in 1985, with a diploma in art, art history, marketing and design.
Erik is the founder and creative director of Stylt.
Further more, he is a sought-after speaker internationally who shared his knowledge and experiences at various occasions and venues such as Objet et Maison in Paris, BODW Hong Kong, the Cornell School of Hotel Administration, BDNY New York and TedX.

IDr Lai Siew Hong
Co-Founder and Chief Executive Designer, Blu Water Studio Co-Founder and Chief Executive Designer of Malaysia based Interior Design firm Blu Water Studio.
He has been creating innovative spaces and solutions, crafting meaningful brands and guest experiences for a wide variety of clients over the last 30 years.
One of his recent accolades was his project, The Edison George Town, which was recognised for its outstanding design in the StarProperty Awards 2020, IDA Design Awards 2019, AHEAD Asia 2017, RIDA 2017 and APIDA 2016.
His other award-winning projects include EQ Kuala Lumpur, citizenM Kuala Lumpur and Hard Rock Hotel at Desaru Coast.
Siew Hong is the President of the Malaysian Institute of Designers (MIID) which is the national institute representing the interior design profession in Malaysia from 2020-2022.
He graduated from the State University of New York with an Associate Degree in Applied Science Interior Design, and served as an Adjunct Lecturer at Taylor’s University.
He has mentored graduate students at China Academy of Art in Hangzhou and was the chief judge of Asia Young Designer Awards since 2016.


Masanobu Takeishi
Lighting Director, ICE (Illumination City of Environment) Ltd Born in Yokohama, Japan in 1959 Graduated from Tama Art University. Department of Architecture Kaito Office Co., Ltd.
I established ICE (Illumination City of Environment) Ltd., in 1996. As of 2021, the president of the same office.
I handle a wide range of lighting design directions such as commercial spaces, public spaces, and events.
Illuminating Engineering Society International Design Award 2006 "Club Minerva” "Award of Excellence” 2011 "Happoen Hakuhokan" "Illumination Award of Distinction" (Best Award) 2017 "Tokyu Plaza Ginza" "Special citation for Interior Design" (Interior Category Award) I has won many international lighting contests.


Robert Thiemann
Founder and Director, Frame Robert Thiemann (Maastricht, 1964) is the founder and director of Frame, a global community platform for interior design.
Innovative and future-facing, Frame aims to empower spatial design excellence with its magazine, books, online platform, events and awards.
Thiemann is a seasoned speaker and consultant on subjects such as retail, hospitality and workplace design for companies such as Chanel, Hermès, Kering, Nespresso, Pernod Ricard, Puig, and Vitra, and has been a jury member for design competitions all over the world.


Dr Suzie Attiwill
Associate Dean Interior Design, Interior Design School of Architecture and Urban Design RMIT University In all areas of her practice, as an educator and designer, Suzie is a passionate and committed advocate for the discipline of interior design.
Her career trajectory plies academic roles with a freelance practice in interior, exhibition and curatorial design.
In 2018, she was appointed the inaugural Associate Dean Interior Design, RMIT University, Australia.
In this role, she is responsible for providing strategic direction as well as ensuring learning and teaching quality, directing research relevance and industry engagements.
Her research is recognised internationally and has been published as book chapters, journal articles, conference presentations and exhibitions.
Committed to fostering research in the discipline and the value of its social and cultural contribution, Suzie has led the Interior Design PhD stream as part of the School of Architecture and Urban Design’s Practice Research Symposiums in Australia, Europe and Asia.
She is a member of the Design Institute of Australia; an Australian Design Honouree, Australian Design Centre; and executive board member, International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers.
