Chi Wing Lo

Founder, DIMENSIONE CHI WING LO Recipient of the World’s Outstanding Chinese Designer award 2015, Chi Wing Lo’s works encompass the fields of architecture, sculpture, interior, furniture and object design.

His prolific output has long been recognized, in and beyond the eminent circle of contemporary Italian design, for his evocativeness in thought, gracefulness in form and meticulousness in every detail.

Founder of DIMENSIONE CHI WING LO, a brand of furniture designed and made in Italy under his close direction, Lo has been actively pursuing design in Italy for almost three decades.

His aspiration for timelessness has brought his designs to international attention and many of his earlier works continue to be much sought after today.

Lo’s solo art and design exhibitions include ESSENCE CHI WING LO at the China Design Museum in 2019, AURA at the Serindia Gallery in Bangkok in 2018, SYNTHEIS - The Silence of His World at the Damei Art Center in Beijing in 2017, SCHOLARLY IMPLEMENTS at the Xiling Seal Art Society Gallery in Hangzhou in 2016, VISION OF A CIVILIZATION and JIANLONG 1055 at the Kwai Fung Hin Art gallery in Hong Kong in 2013 and 2015, TIMELESS DOMAIN at the Triennale Museum in Milan in 2014... among others.

His works are favored by prominent international art collectors.

Infusing poetry with usefulness, Lo’s works are inspired by materials and techniques that have been passed on to our generation.

Also the founder of 1ness, he wishes to unite wisdom and sensibility of past and present, creating works that are lasting, simple and essential.

Lo hopes that his architecture, sculpture, interior, furniture and objects could occupy a special place in the inner domain of our habitation, reconnecting us to the healthy essentiality of life and living.

In 2007, Lo was invited by the Hong Kong Design Centre to contribute a design to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Hong Kong‘s unification with China.

The same year, Radio Television Hong Kong broadcast a documentary of his life and work.

He was the art director for Giorgetti from 2004-2006 and was the chairman of the jury for the St. Petersburg Design Biennale in 2009.

His tower house in Athens was nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Prize in Architecture in 2009.

At Foshan, Guangdong, in 2010, he organized and chaired an international design conference on a theme addressing the need of original design in China.

Raised in Hong Kong, Lo received his Master Degree in Architecture from Harvard University with the best thesis prize in 1988.

He had taught at the Syracuse University, NY, and was a member of the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart.

Served as a visiting critic in different universities and a frequent speaker in design events, Lo has a multidisciplinary practice, integrating art, architecture, interior, furniture and object designs for exclusive projects in Milan, Athens, London, Istanbul, Dubai, Taipei, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

Director, Maher Design Geraldine Maher founded Maher Design in 2018 after several successful years as a Director of Interiors at a large architectural firm.

Her practice is committed to producing uplifting, inventive and sustainable interiors through analytical space planning and meticulous attention to detail.

Geraldine’s critical attention to design brings an inherent authenticity to her work, predicated on the philosophy that acknowledgment of the human circumstance is the driving force behind the best creative outcomes.

Close collaboration with clients is underpinned by rigorous commitment to exploration of ideas, spatial manipulation, material and detail.

She is passionate about creating spaces that reflect her clients’ personality and ethos, as a result, each project transcends the whims of trends and is truly unique.

Throughout her career Geraldine has played a pivotal role in the successful completion of a range of award winning projects in a variety of sectors including; hospitality, workplace, education, retail, justice and public facilities.

Her practice has seen her work throughout Australia, Hong Kong and Germany and she continues to maintain international connections, travelling frequently to expand her knowledge and experiences.

Maher Design has successfully completed a variety of projects across Australia including bespoke residential, retail, hospitality and small workplace projects.

Geraldine continues her involvement on larger public projects through collaboration with architectural practices and consultation to industry.

In addition to her design work, Geraldine contributes to various events as guest speaker, sits on academic assessment panels and awards juries and currently holds the position of jury convener for the Australian Interior Design Awards.

Graeme Brooker

Professor and Head of Interiors, The Royal College of Art He has published numerous books on many aspects of the interior including the recent publications 50-Words for Reuse (Canalside Press 2022) Brinkworth: So Good So Far (Lund Humphreys 2019) Adaptations (Bloomsbury 2016) and Key Interiors Since 1900 (Laurence King 2013).

He has co-authored/edited ten books on the interior including the highly acclaimed Rereading’s, (RIBA 2005, Volume 2 2018).

He has been a visiting professor in Antwerp, Berlin, Istanbul and Milan and is a member of the editorial advisory board of the journals Interiors: Design: Architecture: Culture (Bloomsbury), INNER, IDEA and DESIGN&.

He is the founder and was the director of the charity Interior Educators (IE), the national subject association for all interior courses in the UK, between 2006-2018, and he is a trustee of United In Design (UID): a charity set up to address the lack of diversity in the profession of interiors.

Founder, Designwire Senior media professional in real estate and design fields New-generation spreader of global design and art Jessica Ma worked as the chief editor of the Interior Design China, a Chinese version of American Interior Design from 2006 to 2014; led the Interior Design to make steady progress in the Chinese market by introducing high-quality international projects to China for more than nine years; planned and organized the significant industry event of Selecting Assistants for Masters for eight consecutive years, and created opportunities for nearly 1,000 new designers into well-known design firms.

Jessica Ma established Designwire, a We-media platform, in November 2014, and thus has gradually built a comprehensive and authoritative integration and communication platform for global real estate and design resources based on WeChat official account, website platform, and also diverse media platforms.

Giving back to the society and creating wealth is about much more than matter and money and also represents a heavy moral obligation.

With a commitment to promoting media and industry-driven values, Designwire launched Master Class in 2019, so as to invite the world's top designers and developers in the luxury property and hospitality sectors to deliver high-value learning methodologies that transform thinking into practice and also symbols into meaning.

At the same time, Master Class set up a helping plan to invest part of its income from the course into public welfare.

Born in Hong Kong, Steve Leung is an internationally renowned architect, interior and product designer with over 40 years of design experience.

Taking inspirations from Asian culture and arts, his works are famous for their unique contemporary style.

He has gained a high reputation in the industry and his works have received high acclaim worldwide.

In 2015, Steve was recognized in the Oscar of Interior Design - Andrew Martin International Interior Design Awards and conferred the Interior Designer of the Year Award, further reinforcing his leading status in the industry. “Design” represents different meanings for every master in history.

These thoughts have influenced their creation and achievements, and also reflect their understanding of contemporary culture and lifestyles.

Steve has his own unique thoughts and philosophy on design.

Since his business start-up in 1987, Steve has broken through the traditional framework and geographical boundaries with brand-new thinking and forward-looking international vision, and taken his pace to the diversified development rooted in China with a global perspective, shepherding SLD into a world-leading interior design company.

In 2013, Steve was invited to join YOO, a global brand of real estate place-makers, developers and designers, founded by property entrepreneur John Hitchcox and world renowned designer Philippe Starck.

He became the first Chinese Creative Director and established the brand - ‘Steve Leung & YOO’.

In 2015, he also established “Steve Leung Exchange Ltd. (SLX)” as a bridge for domestic developers and international designers to jointly deliver world-class interior design projects in Mainland China, fostering collaborations across geographical boundaries.

Having achieved significant success during his design career spanning over 40 years, and believing that as a part of the society, it is necessary to shoulder certain social responsibilities, Steve has been actively participating in design-related public roles in recent years.

He hopes to use his profession, experience and network to give back to the industry and society, as well as pay efforts to cultivate young designers.

He has been invited on various occasions to be the judge of the world's authoritative design awards, including Asia Pacific Interior Design Awards, iF Design Award China, Red Dot Design Award, China Property Awards, iF Communication Design Award, etc.

He was the President of the International Federation of Interior Architects / Designers (IFI) from 2017 to 2020, being the first Chinese President in IFI history.

Steve has been the Executive Director of Design Committee of China National Interior Decoration Association (CIDA) since 2013 to present, and the Board of Directors of Hong Kong Design Centre since 2016 to present.

In 2014, Steve joined hands with interior designers from the Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan to establish “C Foundation” to foster development of the design industry and education in China.

Interior Architect Dipl.-Eng. bdia AKG Sylvia Leydecker is a German leading interior architect (100% interior) based in Cologne, origin of famous rhine valley.

She’s well known, mostly for her innovational approach and main focus on healthcare and human centered healing environments in hospitals.

From the very beginning of her work, she dedicated herself to companies that demand quality and atmosphere regarding their interiors.

Since then, future orientation, tradition and innovation have been the interlinking components in her design thinking, which make up the final design and which are essential for her conceptional approach.

In doing so, she repeatedly crosses boundaries and explores them in order to push things forward to further development process. This is why her projects are award winning.

To mention especially last year’s IIDA‘s international healthcare award, best of competition, with her psychosomatic private hospital Chateau Gracht.

Healthcare-innovation is her focus and prestigous prototype-rooms for Germany’s Private Patient Insurance Company PKV or CeBit/Bitkom’s FutureCare have been milestones to her work.

Today a registered Interior Architect, she graduated with the german title Diploma Engineer, after studying interior architecture at the University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden/Germany and Trisakti University in Jakarta/Indonesia.

As an authoresse, her international books „Designing the Patient Room“, „Nanomaterials“, „Corporate Interiors“ also „Designing Interior Architecture“ (Birkhauser/ de Gruyter, AV Edition) became professional’s standards.

Furthermore she’s a long-standing healthcare-magazine-columnist.

As a speaker she has been invited, to Asia, to mention especially Singapore and Korea, also USA and Europe.

Sylvia has been a consultant and artist in residence at renowned RISD, Rhode-Island School of Design/USA, member of various juries and part of advisory boards.

She served as Vice President for bdia (Association of German Interior Architects) Germany and is Past Boardmember of prestigious IFI (International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers).

Recently there’s the visionary design of her Virtual Reality „Soulspace“ Patientroom, creating a future healing environment using new technologies from 3D-Printing, interactive AI and OLEDs.
