The first urban condominium by "NOT A HOTEL", known as a rentable villa.
As it is in a residential area, we designed as a three-dimensional urban space accommodating diversity of lifestyle where each room has a different concept, instead of a single large structure.
The front garden, which seamlessly connected to the front park, mediates and transits smoothly from the tranquility of rooms to the lively urban environment. While the entire facility maintains a sense of unity, each eight rooms has a different concept and design.
To maintain a sense of openness while ensuring privacy, we studied the layout of each room with 3D model studies of the surrounding environment, the views from each room and the sight lines from adjacent buildings. Through repeated modifications of opening heights and landscaping, we have achieved a calm like mountain retreat within the city, while enjoying the convenience of the urban location.

Combining the awareness of environmental protection with knowledge and action, we created an exhibition pavilion that was quickly built and quickly dismantled. Construction materials can be stored, transported, flexibly moved and recycled in the smallest of spaces, creating a closed loop with lower carbon emissions before, during and after the exhibition. For temporary exhibition spaces, the interaction between design and social concepts can move people more than the simple existence of a place. They are embodied here as –Diversity of texture, Plasticity and stability trade-off, Naturalness and human intervention. The exhibition pavilion takes "floating stones" as the concept and PVC air film cube as the carrier, transforming the product characteristics and environmental protection concept into a special experience. Sustainable design isn't just a buzzword, it's a practice that reduces our environmental impact through the use of recyclable materials, while delivering functionality and aesthetic value.

When our client first approached us, they have a very clear vision that they would like this house to be a non-typical Hong Kong residence. With the amazing scenery offered by the house, we instantly envisioned it to be a unique sanctuary for one to be away from the hustle of the city and retreat back in nature. The design aims at offering an indoor/ outdoor experience. The interiors are surrounded with big full height folding doors which can all be opened to bring in outdoor to indoor. There is no boundary between interior and nature. It offers a fourth-dimension experience to living – the sound from nature: wind blowing, water babbling, birds singing, etc. It is a spatial cleansing journey for one’s body and soul using natural palettes such as wood, bamboo, rattan and stones to create a warm, tranquil living style.

Designer has designed Inebi, a newly envisioned Japanese food concept located in Urban Hood, Hysan Place. The design of Inebi takes inspiration from traditional Japanese architecture focusing on wooden construction, modular design, Japanese lattice-work, and the architecture of 'engawa' or Japanese style verandahs.
Within the brand's name Inebi - 'Ine' in Japanese means 'Rice', a central theme to the restaurant's concept. Using rice as design inspiration, Designer took the Japanese 'hangiri'; a traditional, large, shallow wooden tub used for preparing sushi rice, to form a focal feature in the design.
Aside from the Hangiri, Designer studied traditional Japanese wood jointing systems, and abstracted a modular system which would delicately display a series of rice-paper-textured acrylic features cut in the oval shape of rice. With each 'grain' overlapping another below, the system was symbolic of raw rice - still unhusked and fixed to the stem.

As the design of the exhibition hall of Yangjiang's leading knife making corperate Tuobituo, it is necessary to present a complete enterprise ecology in a space of 200 square meters. Cutting, which creates new meanings and experiences at the visual and perceptual levels, is an architectural technique that reshapes the boundaries and connotations of space here. The cutting creates fractures and voids in the morphological epidermis, breaks the visual continuity, and promotes the reorganization of the spatial atmosphere and structure, thereby dissolving the sense of heaviness and closure within the building, and introducing a new rhythm. The interplay of light and cutting creates a unique balance of tension and dynamics. In this triangular space, in a seemingly limited structure, infinite possibilities for expansion and creativity can be found.

The project is a top-floor duplex located in Fuzhou, which is opened by two sets of spaces, forming a 1,000 square meter symmetrical thermocline layout structure. The design takes a waltz as the narrative background, breaks the coherent dance into fragments of architectural forms, disassembles the visual symbols of the available images, and then, through unified spatial thinking, connects the relationships between scenes, and finally frames it as a figurative design interpretation.

For this interior design project, we sought to create a harmonious blend of modern elegance. By integrating seamless wood veneer treatments from the walls to the ceiling, we elevate the overall ambience, offering a cocooning warmth that envelops the entire space.
To complement the natural warmth of the wood, we incorporated terrazzo flooring and surfaces. The terrazzo’s speckled texture and modern appeal create a perfect juxtaposition with the organic wood. The addition of dark stainless steel trim further enhances the finesse of the design, providing sleek lines and a touch of edge. To breeze up the palette, we introduced splashes of soft cyan color. This gentle hue adds vibrancy and freshness, ensuring the interior feels lively without overpowering the serene atmosphere.
Another design focal point is the placement of artworks, which ensure that the home feels curated and personal, with each artwork adding to the overall story of the space.

Walking from the outdoors into this residence, transparent glass doors replace most of the walls, creating a connection between the inside and outside, allowing natural light to flood in and making the whole area more open and bright. The first floor features an integrated living and dining room without any partition walls, resulting in a freely flowing layout. The designer crafted a personalized dwelling that meets various daily living scenarios based on the client's lifestyle and habits. Although the space is limited, the life within it is boundless. The implicit spiritual power of the spatial realm does not necessarily rely on a large number of decorative items and a layering of colors; it can also come from a moderate amount of space left blank.

From the beginning of the design, we hoped to find an inner link between people and space, paying attention to people's needs for function and spirit in the space. The scale, vision and alternation of the field, including the change of the sun's irradiation angle, are basic details carefully considered by us, based on which new spatial dynamic lines, field relationship and people's experience is built. In daily time, people and space feels and fulfills each other.

The villa overlooks a breathtaking view of the PacificOcean, not far from the birthplace of Japan's yachting culture. The design pursues asculptural form befitting this stunning natural environment, symbolized by the large, vaulted roof andarches that evoke the image of the white, rippling sea. With the sea as a motif, we looked for a woodenstructure that shared similarities with yachts andbridges, and the curves of the atrium roof made of CLT (cross laminated timber) give the interior space a senseof expansiveness.
Built on a southwest facing slope, the ocean view can be enjoyed from every space in the room. You can also enjoy resort life in the pool and Jacuzzi with a view of the beautiful ocean. The floor color is emerald green, which evokes the shallow waters of the ocean. The entrance is reminiscent of the undersea, with a white, shell-like staircase floating in the air.

This is a pet-oriented design project that aims to redefine the concept of space. The design prioritizes flexibility, creating a serene and natural ambiance for the owner and her pets. The existing layout has been reconfigured to include sliding panels that divide the space into adaptable sections: the entrance and kitchen space, the living area, and the sleeping area. This reconfiguration results in a circular and seamless flow throughout the living space. The thoughtful choice of glass and wooden panels strives an excellent balance between openness and intimacy.
The design incorporates natural light, materials suitable for pet-friendliness, and dedicated areas for interaction between the owner and her pets. The result is a harmonious living space for both the human and furry inhabitants.

With the concept of “reshaping the everyday-life” as the main axis, the functional requirements are clarified, the spatial structure is planned, the advantages of day lighting are amplified and the circulation space is created, so that the air and natural light can nourish the indoor environment, and change the viewing perspective. Throughout the changes of those subtle textures, the dynamic texture and different levels are highlighted, and in the regular layout form, the surrounding life rituals are connected, and family members can be both independent individuals and extremely intimate groups. In the selection of hard-packed materials, the integrity of the space and the texture of the material itself are mainly highlighted.

'Undulating Compact Home' embodies order through precise and modest design elements. It was designed to minimize friction among family members by incorporating an integrated design approach to conceal the belongings of busy parents in a compact Hong Kong-sized apartment, creating a gentle environment for their baby.
Its central undulating wall unifies the spatial flow, acts as a wayfinding feature, and conceals and integrates a bathroom, cabinetry, and mechanical systems. It is fabricated from oak veneer to keep the apartment well-lit and soft at the corners, making it suitable for the new baby.
The addition of ‘horizontal’ storage systems on top of conventional ‘vertical’ ones give the illusion of a bigger home by maximizing empty wall space. For example, the designers incorporated hydraulic hardware to lift up the master bedroom floor, creating storage underneath for off-season clothes.
Hence, plentiful storage does not detract from an elegant, soft, sensual and minimalist interior.

The residential project, located in a quiet area of Taipei City and built in the 1990s, is owned by a married couple with a daughter. Inspired by Japanese clean minimalism, the design features clean lines, geometric structures, and warm materials like oak wood and stucco. The original, illogical floor plan was transformed to create an open, yet private space. The 56-square-meter home is narrow, so a large square box was designed to contain storage and separate private and public areas. A centrally placed dining table, inspired by the round table concept, connects the living area and kitchen. The kid’s room features a foldable bed, which maximizes space for play and study when folded.

The designer deconstructs the original layout, allowing light to penetrate the space and flow with the air, injecting it into everyday life. All activities in the space become gentle and auspicious moments in life. To emphasize the play of light and shadow, the entire space adopts a colorless scheme, using paint and micro-cement flooring to create a comfortable living environment. Cats are another mobile protagonist in the space, with areas planned for their leisure, such as window views overlooking the river. Starting from the curved shelf behind the refrigerator, a cat tunnel extends through the walls to the bedroom window, even incorporating cat perches on pillars, ensuring cats have access to optimal spaces throughout the home. The pervasive curved lines in the space create a sense of fluidity and rhythm, seamlessly integrating into the environment with a sense of naturalness and harmony.

All things are straight or curvy, which make for the art. As a functional venue integrating beauty, health preservation and leisure, the beauty salon should always maintain the dual attributes of fashion and emotion.
Chinese people highly value the degree of curves and straightness, which constitute quietness in cities, and beauty of static space, if properly handled. Curves and straightness, light, shadow and materials, frame-line combination and rectangular segmentation all use interpersonal as a scale, which improve the emotional attachment to the space and the interaction with users. This highlights the fun and the essence of life, and achieves a spiritual resonance between beauty workers and customers. The design of the spa room ought to be comfortable. At the foot of the six hundred year old Ming city wall there is an abandoned cotton mill, which is now being re-designed and re-used as a design agency and coffee shop, with a new design concept that contrasts with the city wall and factory building of the past. We used a minimalist design language: black rock panels and stainless steel to complete the facade and cafe design. In the interior office space design, we retained the old steel windows, sloping roofs and other elements, and added pure natural Okoume combined with the subtlety of micro-cement to create a simple, strong, green and environmentally friendly art space. The combination of old and new decoration elements seems to be a dialogue between the past and the modern, contributing to the continuation of urban culture and the development of modern design in both directions.
